Dear Parents and School Community,
I am thrilled to welcome you to St. Peter Faber Academy! As your principal, I am deeply honored to be part of a community committed to nurturing the intellectual, spiritual, and moral growth of each of our students.
At St. Peter Faber Academy, we are proud to be a Lab School in collaboration with Xavier University. This partnership allows us to offer a unique educational experience that blends innovative teaching methods with the rich traditions of Jesuit education. As a Jesuit Catholic school, we embrace a holistic approach that emphasizes service to others, care for the whole person, and the pursuit of social justice. These principles guide everything we do and shape our vision for a transformative educational experience for your child. We are excited to focus on several key educational initiatives that enrich the students’ learning journey and help them grow as leaders, thinkers, and global citizens.
Global Education:
In our increasingly interconnected world, understanding and appreciating global issues is essential. Our global education program empowers students to engage with diverse cultures and perspectives, while deepening their understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the world today. Through cross-cultural exchange and global learning opportunities, students will develop into compassionate, informed global citizens.
Culinary Arts:
Our culinary arts program combines creativity and practical skills, teaching students the art and science of cooking. It not only fosters teamwork and discipline, but also emphasizes the importance of nutrition, sustainability, and the cultural significance of food. Students will gain valuable life skills while also discovering the joy of cooking as an expression of creativity and service to others.
Foreign Language:
Mastering a foreign language opens doors to greater communication, understanding, and empathy. Our foreign language program focuses on building proficiency in Spanish, while cultivating a deep appreciation for the cultures and histories behind these languages. By becoming fluent in another language, students will expand their ability to connect with others in a global society.
STREAM Education:
Science, Technology, Religion/Robotics, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM) are foundational to developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Our STREAM program encourages students to explore and experiment through hands-on learning, promoting inquiry and innovation. By integrating the arts with STREAM disciplines, we empower students to become thoughtful, well-rounded problem solvers who are ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s world.
Gardening Program:
Through our gardening program, students experience firsthand the wonders of nature and learn valuable lessons about sustainability, responsibility, and environmental stewardship. By growing their own food, students not only develop a deeper understanding of biology and ecology but also learn the importance of caring for God’s creation and practicing mindfulness in how we treat the Earth.
Fine Arts Education:
The fine arts program at St. Peter Faber Academy offers students a creative outlet for self-expression while also helping to cultivate their emotional intelligence, teamwork, and confidence. Whether through arts, music, or theater, our students have the opportunity to explore and develop their artistic talents in a supportive environment, allowing them to experience the joy of creation and performance.
Jesuit Catholic Education:
Our Jesuit Catholic identity is at the heart of everything we do. We seek to educate students not only academically but also spiritually, fostering a deep sense of purpose and calling. We emphasize the development of the whole person, following the Jesuit ideals of cura personalis, or “care for the whole person.” We encourage our students to grow in their faith, develop a strong moral compass, and make a positive difference in the world.
Service Learning:
Service to others is a central tenet of Jesuit education. Our service-learning program provides students with opportunities to apply what they are learning in the classroom to real-world issues, while also giving back to the community. Through service projects, students will engage with the world around them in meaningful ways, developing a sense of responsibility and a commitment to justice.
Ignatian Spirituality:
Ignatian spirituality, rooted in the life and teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola, emphasizes finding God in all things and making choices that reflect a deep sense of love, justice, and compassion. At St. Peter Faber Academy, we integrate Ignatian spirituality into our daily routines, encouraging students to reflect on their experiences, seek God in every moment, and act with integrity. Through prayer, reflection, and discernment, our students grow in their understanding of God’s presence in their lives and are inspired to live out their faith in service to others.
We are committed to offering countless opportunities for your child to discover their passions, develop their talents, and become men and women for others. Together, with your support, and the invaluable collaboration with Xavier University, we strive to empower our students to lead lives of purpose, faith, and service.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community. We are excited to work alongside you in this shared mission and look forward to an incredible year of learning, growth, and service.
Gratefully,
Sarah Bitzer
Principal
